CAMPBELL SOUP LABELS
We are collecting soup labels for the Friendship House.
Bring your labels to the container outside the church office.
MISSION OPPORTUNITIES THROUGHOUT THE YEAR
Operation Christmas Child
“Operation Christmas Child, a project of international Christian relief organization Samaritan's Purse, headed by Franklin Graham, is the world's largest Christmas project. Kids, families, schools, churches and community groups participate by filling shoe boxes with school supplies, toys, necessity items, candy and a letter of encouragement. The shoe boxes are then hand-delivered to hurting children around the world using whatever means necessary-sea containers, trucks, trains, airplanes, helicopters, boats, camels, even dog sleds.” – DeMossNews.com
Christmas for Riverbend Nursing Home
This is a project that we have been doing for several years now in which we "adopt" a Riverbend grandparent and purchase a few gifts from their wish list
so that they will have a few gifts to open at their Christmas party.
Louisiana Baptist Children’s Home Fall Food Drive
Beginning in late August and continuing through September, our church collects canned goods and non-perishables that go to feed the children of the Louisiana Baptist Children’s Home though out the year.
World Hunger Day
Beginning in August, we as a church collected our empty soda cans to turn into World Hunger Cans. The cans were then distributed in September among our people to be filled with change and returned on October 11, World Hunger Day. During this year’s collection we raised $1,915.74 to help fight world Hunger.
Lakeview Mardi Gras Mission
Along a major parade route, Lakeview Baptist Church hosted an evangelistic block party right in their front yard for all the people walking past to get to see their parade. Our church worked with their congregation in providing a witness of Jesus Christ to this neighborhood.
Sharing the Peace of Jesus
During this mission, teams of members went out into Belle Chasse and blanketed over 3000 homes in the surrounding neighborhoods with prayers. Members prayed that the God would meet the needs of the residents as well as that they would be receptive to the Holy Spirit, and that their eyes would be opened to the truth of God’sWord.
Restoration Fest
Our church participated in an evangelistic outreach in a westbank park one Sunday afternoon. The Women's Ministry hosted a wellness table and the pastor shared the Gospel through balloons for children.
Baptist Campus Ministries Meal
For this mission we gathered, prepared, and served a spaghetti dinner to the students who participated in the Baptist Campus Ministries of Tulane and Loyola. Some members of our congregation donated the food, others cooked, and then a group took the prepared meal to the BCM headquarters and served it to the students.
